Everyone wants more leads, right?
Pay per click (PPC) is an Internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, where advertisers pay the publisher (typically a website owner) when the ad is clicked. With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. When a user types a keyword query matching an advertiser’s keyword list, or views a webpage with relevant content, the advertiser’s ads may be displayed.
PPC Marketing is a branch of Search Engine Marketing. PPC Marketing involves placing sponsored ads in search engine queries, ad networks – sites / blogs, and social network platforms. With Adwords, you can place ads alongside Google’s organic results.
Next time you use Google to search for something, look to the right of the organic results and you will see ads under “Sponsored Links”. Since advertisers only pay when the ad is clicked, it is a cost effective way to attract highly qualified leads and increase your conversion rate.
Steps for PPC Marketing
1. Know Your Product
Take an inventory of the product and/or services that you have to offer (before anything else).
2. Stay Within the Budget
Determine your daily or monthly budget; and stay with it. This means keeping your budget in mind, avoiding bidding wars if possible.
3. Bid Just Right
Know how to bid right – a bid that is too high can exhaust all of your money, while a bid that is too low can make you lose that spot.
4. Watch the Bottom Line
Measure your profit margin against your spending or expenses. Know when to stop and terminate your PPC program – if you spend more on advertising but have little or no sales at all.
5. Find the Right Keywords
Decide which keyword phrases to opt and bid for. Do some keyword research, either by actually looking at existing search terms or with the use of online keyword suggestion tools, to know which terms are mostly used when searching for items that are related to your business. Focus on specific keywords, not on general ones.
6. Write Effective Ads
A good PPC ad is that which can persuade and move a searcher. There are several approaches to this:
- Discount offers
- Testimonials
- Celebrity/famous endorsers
- Money-back guarantees
- Free trials or sample offers
- Freebies
- Reverse psychology
- Major benefits
- Direct instructions
7. Maintain A Professional-Looking Site
Your web content should be regularly updated and checked for spelling and grammatical errors. There should be no broken links or images. The website should be simple – designed in such a way that it will be easy for visitors to navigate and load. Include contact details to create a good impression among potential customers.
Pay Per Click is one of the most cost effective way of marketing products or services if it’s done right. But if you are not sure you can do it without wasting a lot of money, you better are off if you hire an Internet Marketing company to help with your PPC campaign.

Content farms where few media companies and many SEO companies have depended on to generate traffic and online advertising monies are in for a tough time. Google mentioned today that they are going to focus more on the quality of their search results – and excluding search results from content farms which may not have relevant and adequate content for the search parameters used.
In the last few years, companies like DemandMedia, and even Yahoo have hired a large number of free lancers and content writers to generate content for their different website properties. Most of the content is trivial, or to some extent copied from different websites to create a page. Traffic to these sites is generated by search engines like Google since search engines find the necessary search keywords on the page, and the publisher/website makes money by just stuffing the page with ads – ironically most of them being Google Ads.
This idea is not new, and many aggressive SEO companies have created their own version of content farms which exist just to generate this kind of traffic. Some variations of so called content farms are the classifieds sites stuffed with ads, article submission sites, question-answer sites which seem to attract same question asked on other thousands of sites.
All of them may have to go back to their drawing board if Google manages to curtail this spam. And we really hope they do for the sake of the search users.

One of the top problems online marketing companies face is getting listed into the search engines quickly. For most Web sites, Google refers more traffic than any other search engine. So it’s imperative that the site is indexed in Google. Yet somehow sites still fail to make it into the Google index. Here is a simple method to submit your web pages direct to Google.
Submit your web site via Google’s free submit your site form. Just submit your home page and Google’s crawler, Googlebot, will crawl the rest. However, Google does not add all submitted URLs to their index, and there is no guarantee as to when, or if, your site will be indexed. Continue reading “The Secret of Getting Listed on Google”
